AINW QUALIFICATIONS

Archaeological Investigations Northwest, Inc. (AINW), has performed a variety of projects that represent nearly every facet of cultural resource studies for compliance with federal, state, county, and local laws and regulations. AINW has completed more than 1800 cultural resource projects since the company was established in 1989. These projects encompass the breadth of cultural resource disciplines: archaeology, history, ethnography, and architectural history. Most of the projects have been done to meet the compliance regulations of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and documentation for EAs and EISs, and for local or state agency reviews of development and energy projects, for example.

Our projects range from very small in size and scope to large linear projects covering several states with complex coordination and permitting requirements. AINW has performed projects for a wide range of private, agency, and tribal clients. Federal agencies for which AINW has performed work are:

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Bureau of Reclamation
U.S. Forest Service U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
Bureau of Land Management National Park Service
Federal Highway Administration Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Office
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission U.S. Postal Service
General Services Administration Bonneville Power Administration
Housing Authorities

We are very familiar with the procedures for these agencies, and for the departments of transportation in Washington and Oregon. We also regularly work with local planning agencies to meet county and city requirements.
